Painting retreat
In this workshop, painting happens without rigid rules and without haste. Using gouache, watercolour, oil, or acrylic, each participant is invited to choose the technique that most appeals to them and to explore colour, form, and gesture freely. Canvases in various formats and different types of paper are available, allowing each creation to find its own support.
Painting outdoors is naturally encouraged, making the most of the light, the landscape, and the surrounding silence. And if you feel that you don’t know how to draw, leave that idea behind — you don’t need to know how to draw in order to paint. Here, the process is just as important as the result.

Programme
Day 1 — Arrival
Check-in between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm
Welcome reception with a tasting of Amante organic olive oil, produced on the estate, followed by an introductory session about Herdade da Burquilheira and the painting retreat.
Day 2 — Creation and Colour
Morning: Painting workshop – exploration of techniques and materials (2h30)
Afternoon: Time dedicated to painting at a slow pace, alternating moments of creation, pause, and contemplation, in dialogue with the surrounding Nature.
Day 3 — Closing
Painting workshop – continuation and deepening of the creative process (2h30)

Accommodation in a private room with en-suite bathroom, with living room and kitchen shared with the other participants.

A meal delivery service is available, provided by a restaurant from the village of Alcáçovas.

Upon request, transfer service is available from the Casa Branca train station, as well as transfers from the city of Évora.
